Brazil created 129,775 formal jobs in July 2025, down from 166,621 in June. The balance reflected 2.25 million hires and 2.12 million layoffs. All major sectors contributed positively: services (+50,159), commerce (+27,325), industry (+24,426), construction (+19,066), and agriculture (+8,795). Job growth was recorded in 25 of 27 states, led by São Paulo (+42,798), Mato Grosso (+9,540), and Bahia (+9,436), while Espírito Santo (-2,381) and Tocantins (-61) were the only states with losses. The average admission wage was R$2,277.51, down 0.25% in real terms from June. Brazil’s total stock of formal jobs rose 0.27% to 48.54 million in July.
