US utilities added 101 billion cubic feet of natural gas to storage from the previous week to 2.476 trillion cubic feet on the period ending May 23, in line with market expectations of 99 bcf, extending the building season for natural gas ahead of the North American summer. Despite the increase, stocks remained 11.3% lower than the comparable period from the previous year, but 3.9% above the five-year average.
