The RealClearMarkets/TIPP Economic Optimism Index edged down to 48.6 in July 2025 from 49.2 in June, missing market expectations of 50.1. The Six-Month Economic Outlook, which measures how consumers perceive the economy's prospects in the next six months, declined to 44.5 from 45.1. Confidence in Federal Economic Policies, a proprietary RCM/TIPP measure of views on the effectiveness of government economic policies, dropped to 47.3 from 48.6. On the other hand, the Personal Financial Outlook, a measure of how Americans feel about their own finances in the next six months, improved to 54 from 53.8.
