The annual inflation rate in Turkey eased to 38.10% in March 2025 from 39.05% in the previous month, below market expectations of 38.90%. This marked the 10th consecutive month of declining consumer inflation and the lowest level since December 2021. Price increases moderated across several categories, including clothing and footwear (14.81% vs 20.84% in February), transport (21.59% vs 23.38%), furnishings and household equipment (32.41% vs 33.60%), health (42.01% vs 43.02%), recreation and culture (27.36% vs 29.26%), and hotels, cafes, and restaurants (43.38% vs 45.90%). However, food and non-alcoholic beverage costs accelerated modestly (37.12% vs 35.11%). Meanwhile, core inflation dropped to 37.42%, the lowest level since December 2021, down from 42.10% in February. On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.46%, higher than the 2.27% rise recorded in February.
