Turkey’s consumer confidence index fell to 83.5 in July 2025 from 85.1 in the previous month. This marks the lowest reading since February, as sentiment declined across all subcomponents. Households viewed their current financial situation more negatively (68.2 vs 69.3 in June), as well as their outlook for the next 12 months (84.6 vs 85.8). Expectations for the general economic situation also weakened, with the index dropping to 79 from 82.4. Meanwhile, consumers were slightly less optimistic about spending on durable goods over the next year (102.3 vs 102.6), and viewed the current period as less favorable for saving (62.5 vs 64.6). The perceived probability of saving over the next 12 months also declined (41.4 vs 42.4). Additionally, more consumers expected a rise in unemployment over the coming year, with the index dropping to 79.6 from 82.2.
