Thailand’s consumer prices fell 0.25% year-on-year in June 2025, following a 0.57% drop in May and exceeding the expected 0.10% decrease. This marked the third straight month of deflation, keeping inflation outside the central bank’s 1%–3% target range. Prices continued to decline for transport (-3.23% vs -3.38% in May) and housing and furnishings (-0.35% vs -0.30%), amid lower fuel and electricity costs. Deflation also persisted in clothing and footwear (-0.88% vs -0.91%) and medical and personal care (-0.80% vs -1.05%). In contrast, inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages accelerated to 1.64% — a three-month high — from 0.89% in the prior period. Meanwhile, annual core inflation edged down to 1.06% in June from 1.09% in May, defying market forecasts of a slight rise to 1.10%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices inched up 0.02%, following a 0.26% gain in May.
