The economy of Tanzania expanded 5.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, up from a 5% growth in the previous three-month period. Financial and insurance services recorded the highest growth of 17.1%, followed by information and communication (13.4%), other services (8.6%), transport and storage (7.6%), electricity (7.6%), accommodation and food services (7.2%), public administration and defense (6.6%), and construction (6.4%).
