The Swiss unemployment rate edged down to a non-seasonally adjusted 2.8% in April 2025, the lowest in four months, from 2.9% in each of the previous two months. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 2.5 thousand to 130.1 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, ticked lower to 2.5% from 2.6% in March, with the number of young unemployed falling by 0.6 thousand to 11.1 thousand. The number of vacancies reported declined by 1.6 thousand to 40.9 thousand positions during the period. Adjusted for seasonal factors, the jobless rate stood at 2.8% in April, unchanged from the prior month.
