It pointed to the highest reading since November, reflecting an optimistic economic outlook. Consumers' perceptions of their current living standards held steady at 87, while their outlook for the future improved to 93, a 4-point gain. Sentiment about future household income rose to 97, up 1 point from the previous month, and expectations for future household spending climbed to 106, a 3-point increase. Views on the current domestic economy rose to 55, a 4-point improvement, while expectations for the future economy jumped to 73, an 8-point gain. The expected inflation rate for the next year was 2.7%, with the three-year and five-year outlooks both at 2.6%.
