South Korea’s Composite Consumer Sentiment Index stood at 109.9 in December 2025, down 2.5 points from 112.4 in November. Consumer sentiment regarding current living standards was 95, one point lower than in November, while expectations for the future outlook were 100, one point lower than the previous month. Sentiment about future household income decreased to 103, and expectations for future household spending stayed at 110. Consumers’ views on current domestic economic conditions weakened to 89, while expectations for future domestic economic conditions fell to 96. Overall, the data suggest a broad deterioration in confidence driven by weaker assessments of the domestic economy and lower income expectations. Inflation expectations were 2.6% for the year ahead, 2.6% for the three-year horizon and 2.5% for the five-year horizon.
