Retail sales in Slovenia advanced by 1.6% year-on-year in May 2025, following an upwardly revised 0.9% increase in the previous month. This marked the sharpest growth in retail activity since February, as sales continued to rise for food, beverages & tobacco (1.7% vs 1.1% in April) and non-food products (2.2% vs 2.0%), while automotive fuel in specialized stores fell at a slower pace (-0.9% vs -1.9%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail trade stalled in May, following an upwardly revised 0.7% gain in the preceding period.
