Food prices in Rwanda surged by a record 56.9% year-on-year in October of 2022, from a 41.2% rise in the previous month. Steep price increases were recorded for vegetables (79.9%), bread & cereals (55.4%) and milk, cheese and eggs (27%). On a monthly basis, food prices jumped by 9.9%, after a 5.5% rise in the previous month.
