Romania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged up to 5.8% in May 2025 from April’s four-month low of 5.7%. The number of unemployed persons increased by 3.1 thousand from a month earlier to 470.5 thousand. Among genders, the jobless rate for men moderated by 5.9% from 6% in April, while that for women ticked higher to 5.6% from 5.5% in the preceding period.
