The Romanian GDP rose by 0.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, slowing from a 0.5% growth in the previous three-month period and coming in below market expectations of a 1.2% rise, preliminary estimates showed. This marked the sixteenth consecutive quarter of economic expansion, albeit the softest pace in the sequence. On a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the country's economy stagnated in the first quarter, following a downwardly revised 0.5% increase in the previous quarter.
