New Zealand's ANZ Business Outlook Index edged down to 57.5 in March 2025 from 58.4 in the previous month as domestic economic uncertainties persisted. Forward own activity stayed solid with an increase (48.6 vs 45.1 in February), while past own activity weakened (0.8 vs 2.9). Export intentions weakened (17.3 vs 17.9) together with investment intentions (17.3 vs 18.1), and employment determinations (15.6 vs 17). Meantime, profit expectations eased (29.4 vs 22.3), pricing intentions (51.3 vs 46.2), cost expectations (74.1 vs 71.3), and wage pressure (80.0 vs 79.2). On the cost side, inflation expectations rose (2.63% vs 2.53%). Meantime, credit availability increased sharply (23.7 vs 15.7). Residential construction accelerated after a plunge from the previous month (47.2 vs 25.8).
