The unemployment rate in North Macedonia dropped to 12.3% in the third quarter of 2024, down from 12.8% in the corresponding period of the previous year, marking a new record low. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 3.8 thousand to 98.3 thousand, while the employed persons increased by 5.6 thousand to 698.4 million. The employment rate rose to 46.1% in the third quarter of 2024 from 45.7% in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate edged higher to 52.6% from 52.4% in the third quarter of 2023.
