The unemployment rate in Macau edged up to 1.9% in the three months ending March 2025 from 1.8% in the previous period, marking the highest since May 2024. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 500 to 7,300, the highest since April 2024, while total employment fell by 3,100 to 371,800. The main sectors affected by job losses were gaming, construction, and restaurants & similar activities.
