The annual inflation rate in Lebanon eased to 13.0% in April 2025, the lowest in over five years, from 14.2% in the previous month. The slowdown was mainly driven by slower price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages (20.9% vs 21.4% in March), housing & utilities (15.8% vs 16.5%) and restaurant & hotels (14.9% vs 17.3%). Prices also tumbled for transportation, falling by 1.4% from a 2.5% rise in the prior period. In contrast, the cost for recreation & culture accelerated (4.8% vs 4.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.7%, from a 0.4% increase in March.
