The annual inflation rate in Lebanon accelerated to 16.4% in October 2025, up from 15.1% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since December 2024, driven by faster rises in prices for education (76.8% vs 30.6% in September), recreation, amusement, and culture (40.4% vs 9.5%), and health (5.0% vs 4.9%). Meanwhile, inflation moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (19.4% vs 23.9%), miscellaneous goods and services (27.3% vs 27.6%), housing and utilities (17.4% vs 18.3%), clothing and footwear (7.9% vs 11%), transportation (3.9% vs 5.8%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.1% vs 11.1%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (0.8% vs 1.2%), and restaurants and hotels (9.7% vs 10.7%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 3.2% in October, accelerating from a 0.6% rise in September, marking the fastest pace since October 2023.
