The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic kept its benchmark interest rate at 9.25% during its August 2025 meeting, maintaining its focus on price stability while supporting growth. Inflation stood at 5.0% year-to-date and 9.4% annually, reflecting global food price volatility, seasonal changes in domestic food costs, and adjustments to electricity tariffs. Despite these pressures, the economy expanded strongly, with real GDP rising 11.5% in January–July 2025, driven by industry, construction, and services. Consumer demand was further supported by higher household incomes, remittance inflows, and increased bank lending.
