Georgia’s trade deficit narrowed to USD 752.4 million in August 2025 from USD 815.3 million in the same month a year earlier. This marked the smallest trade deficit since March 2024, as exports dropped less than imports. Exports fell by 5.9% year-on-year to USD 603.0 million, while imports declined by 6.9% to USD 1,355.5 million. In the first eight months of the year, the country’s trade deficit widened to USD 7,354.5 million from USD 6,594.5 million in the corresponding period of the previous year, as imports (9.7%) rose much faster than exports (6.7%).
