The Finnish consumer confidence increased to -8.2 in March 2025 from a nine-month low of -9 in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since November 2024 but still well below the CCI’s long-term average of -2.6, highlighting continued pessimism among consumers. Households' sentiment about their own economy (-4.5 vs -6.3 in February) improved slightly but stayed weak, as did their views on Finland’s current economy (-35.2 vs -36.5). Meanwhile, assessments of financial situations (23.4 vs 21.5) and saving opportunities (-9.8 vs -13) aligned with long-term averages. However, the time was still considered highly unfavorable for purchasing durable goods, and spending intentions remained low (-19.5 vs -19.2). Lastly, unemployment expectations were bleak (-27.5 vs -32.2), with a high perceived risk of job loss (-14.3 vs -13.6).
