Finland’s trade surplus narrowed to EUR 0.53 billion in June 2025 from EUR 0.93 billion from the corresponding month of the previous year, preliminary estimates showed. Exports fell by 4.4% year-on-year to EUR 6.45 billion, dragged down by lower sales to EU (-15.1%), while it rose to non-EU countries (12%). Among trading partners, exports declined mainly to Germany (-58.7%), China (-34.7%), Estonia (-26.9%), and France (-16.4%). Meanwhile, imports grew by 1.8% to EUR 5.92 billion, due to increased purchases from EU (3.7%), while it decreased from non-EU countries (-0.8%). Imports rose mostly from from the US (25.8%), South Korea (50.4%), Czechia (37.4%), and Denmark (20.1%). For the first half of the year, the country recorded a trade surplus of EUR 0.02 billion, shifting from a EUR 1.61 billion deficit in the same period last year.
