El Salvador reported a trade deficit of USD 901.64 million in January 2025, widening from the USD 725 million gap recorded in the same month the previous year. Exports increased by 2.75% year-over-year to USD 545.67 million, driven by an increase in non-traditional goods (15.09%), while the decline in of 53.09% in the export of consumer goods, particularly sugar (-64.11%) and manufactured goods (-21.27%) somewhat offset. Meanwhile, imports also increased by 11.87% to USD 1,447.31 million.
