Egypt’s unemployment rate fell to 6.3% in the first quarter of 2025 from 6.4% in the previous three-month period. This marks the lowest jobless rate since records began in 1993. The country’s male unemployment rate fell to 3.6% in Q1, down from 3.9% the previous quarter and 4.4% a year earlier. The unemployment rate for women also dipped slightly to 16.4%, from 16.6% last quarter and 16.5% a year ago. Meanwhile, the labor force grew by 1.0%, reaching 33.447 million from 33.124 million in the prior quarter.
