Ecuador’s trade surplus narrowed to $564.54 million in June 2025 from $603.13 million a year earlier, marking the 20th consecutive monthly surplus. Exports rose 13.8% to $3,328.1 million, driven by bananas (+16.9%), shrimp (+24.1%), and cocoa and derivatives (+26.6%), while oil exports rose 37.7% to $807.9 million. Coffee (+492.0%) and tuna and fish (+32.0%) exports also increased. Imports rose 19.0% to $2,763.6 million, partially offsetting export gains. Import growth was led by consumer goods (+34.8%), raw materials (+22.1%), and capital goods (+16.4%).
