Denmark’s consumer confidence index increased to -17.3 in December 2025 from -20.1 in the previous month. It marked the highest reading since August, supported by improvements in sentiment about the country’s economic situation over the past 12 months (-28.7 vs -34.4 in November), as well as expectations for the next 12 months (-21.0 vs -27.2). At the same time, consumers’ expectations regarding the climate for major purchases at present (-17.3 vs -19.5) and for the coming year (-8.8 vs -9.1) were both less pessimistic. Meanwhile, households reported a slight deterioration in their personal financial situation (-15.7 vs -15.1). Among components not included in the overall confidence indicator, concerns about unemployment over the next 12 months declined (15.7 vs 8.6), and expectations for price developments in the coming year also decreased (26.1 vs 30.8).
