The annual inflation rate in Cape Verde moderated for the second month to 1.6% in October 2025, a ten-month low, from 2.2% in September, prompted by falling prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (-0.9% vs 0.6% in September) and transportation (-1.4% vs -0.2%). At the same time, softer increases were seen for some CPI categories, including alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5.7% vs 5.8%); clothing & footwear (15% vs 15.3%); furnishings & household equipment (4.7% vs 5.2%) and recreation & culture (1.1% vs 1.9%). On a monthly basis, the CPI edged down by 0.1% in October, after a 0.4% decrease in the prior month.
