The annual inflation rate in Burkina Faso rose to 1% in December 2023, up from 0.5% in the previous month. It marked the second consecutive period of growth in consumer prices after declining for six straight months, as deflation moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.1% vs 2.0% in November). On a monthly basis, the CPI dropped 1.4%, following a 0.6% increase in November.
