Decentralized exchanges, or DEXs, allow users to trade with one another in a permissionless manner and without any intermediaries. As long as someone provides liquidity, anyone can purchase and sell that token on the exchange. Besides its use case in dictating governance decisions, DEX tokens usually seek to capture value for the holders by diverting some of the transaction fees to stakers.
